The Desert Sun Solar Initiative is a utility-scale solar energy project being developed on Navajo Nation land. With a planned capacity of 750 megawatts, it aims to supply clean energy equivalent to the needs of approximately 290,000 U.S. homes annually. This project highlights Solar Horizons’ commitment to equitable energy transition, ensuring the Navajo Nation benefits economically through lease payments, equity opportunities, and tax revenues. It also addresses climate justice by replacing extractive energy practices with sustainable alternatives, providing environmental and economic revitalization for Tribal lands.
